10.20 > 11.00 Printer problems

After the 11.00 update none of my printers worked so I deleated them and reinstalled using SAM which calls JetAdmin 5.15. The printers and worked but SAM showed not enabled. I applied a SAM patch PHCO_21187 and the printers still showed not enabled. I downloaded the new JetDirect Printer Installer 10.05 and installed the printers again from the command line. Now they show enabled in SAM.

My problem is SAM still calls JetAdmin 5.15 instead of JetDirect Printer Installer 10.05 when installing a printer. How do I get SAM to use JetDirect Printer Installer 10.05?

Hi Bruce,
I just looked at 2 of my HPUX11 box and I see them installed with:
HP JetAdmin Utility for UNIX (Rev. D.06.15) and never encountered such problem
Is my version older or more recent than yours?
If more recent I would suggest you give it a try!

I never had any trouble. I havent heard of JetDirect Printer Installer, but mind you Im doing a lot of AIX at the moment...Could you say more about the product?

I agree with Victor, the Jet Admin software (Rev. D.06.15) will update you system and move the printers created with any lower version to Printername.old in /etc/lp/interface directory.

I installed Jet Admin software (Rev. D.06.15). This is the 11.00 version and it worked fine.
You should check out JetDirect Printer Installer 10.05, it has some slick features like transfer all queues form one box to another.
