Re: 11.0 COLD INSTALL

Yes indeed it is the way to go.

If you are wondering how to boot off of the install CD, simply power up the server, when prompted to interupt the boot process do so. Then type 'sea' to search for bootable devices(on a V-Class use 'sea ipl'). From the list of bootable devices find the number next to the entry that corresponds to your CD-ROM(e.g. P3). Then at the prompt type 'bo p#' where the # is the number from the search results. When asked if you wish to interact with the IPL, say no. The install menu should pop-up after that and then you are on your way. I hope that this helps.

Re: 11.0 COLD INSTALL

Actually, this was a duplicate post without a body.
I ran a cold install by installing the latest 11.0 CD and the patches on the diag CD and noticed that there a some filesets in the 'installed' state. I checked the log. Claims that filesets were not loaded because a superceeded patch already existed on the system. Not sure how this can be since it was a new install. Anyway, should I leave them in the installed state or remove them. What is the CBA?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: 11.0 COLD INSTALL

Hi,

Do not remove them, but try to get them in configured state with:

swconfig \*
