2 minutes delay response

Hi all,

rp7420 B11.11 system with oracle 9i relase 2 application 10g suddenly delaying his response when I am trying to telnet to the system. It takes 1.5 min for telnet and 2.5 min for hostname ping response and can not ftp because of delay responses. I don't know how can I solve this problem.

Hi Rana,

Take a look at Network collision rate and if it is too high try to reduce. Also, check the cable connectivity, etc.. to verify no hardware failure or fault.

Hi Rana,
could you please recollect any recent changes done on the system?
suspected Network related issue. Please check the following.
1. do nslookup and nslookup

2.If nslookup gives correct output check the Physical network errors using nettl logs.
netfmt -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG000 > /tmp/network.log

3. check the syslog file for any pier died kind of messages.

4. parallelly log a case with HP as an alternative.

there may be so many things to affect your system like you are facing.
you just gave a symptom of the system,
so it may be uneasy to find the root cause out.

Just make nerrow the probability of the problem.

1. check demesg
2. check syslog.log
3. check performance /w glance
If you don't have glance
use vmstat, sar , netstat
4. check a change point

if you get any clue, forward again.
