A4107A FWD SCSI Hardware path

Hello,

I have a problem with adding a A4107A FWD SCSI-Card in my D390/2.
I put it in the HP-HSC Turbo Slot (Slot 6).
This Slot has normaly the Path: 10/12
In this Server it shows the Path: 10/10
What is wrong, what can I do ??

Regards peter

Re: A4107A FWD SCSI Hardware path

According to my HP config guide a D390 has only 5 HSC slots (0 to 4), the last (slot 4 or the 5th slot) is the HSC Turbo slot, not slot 6 as you stated.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: A4107A FWD SCSI Hardware path

Stefan,

on the HSC labels vertical bar it is labled "Turbo" on the EISA labels vertical bar it is labeled "6". This certainly caused your confusion, however, it definitely *should* be HW path 10/12.

Peter, does ioscan show the card "claimed" ? Can you attach devices and see them? If yes, I would say: don't worry, be happy. Though I have no explanation, or I'd have answered sooner.

Re: A4107A FWD SCSI Hardware path

Hi Peter,

If this is the first time you are installing a hardware in that slot, then please go ahead with configuring your disks in that controller, and everything will be fine.

If you had noticed that the earlier card on the same slot had a hardware path 10/12, only then you need to be concerned. Even then you can complete the configuration if ioscan -fn shows that the hardware is claimed.
