Re: a4926a gigabit ethernet adapter

what /stand/vmunix |grep gelan

if it shows up like this:
gelan 1000Base-SX/T Revision: B.11.11.20 PHNE_28883 Oct 10 2003 11:00:47

then check to see if it is in your kernel:
lsdev | grep gelan

if not, then go into sam, and add gelan to kernel, reboot

Re: a4926a gigabit ethernet adapter

If you don't already have a 'gelan' driver available, as tested above, it is an optional add-on product in 11.00.

You will need to find an 11.00 Applications CD and install it from there. The Product or Bundle numbers are
- A4924A or
- J1642AA

If you have a support contract, HP should be able to give this to you. I can't find anywhere to download it.

Re: a4926a gigabit ethernet adapter

Scot is spot-on here - the gelan driver was not part of the base OS on 11.0. It only became part of the base OS on 11.11 and later. So, if you can get the DARTs/AppCD's that is the way to go, or.... since HP-UX 11.0 is rather old now, you might want to consider upgrading to 11.11 or 11.23 (11iv1 or 11iv2 Update2).
