about port
i am using a chat program ,and i use a patch to see my friend's ip and port.
most of them's port is 4000,but some have different ports, for example:61103,33696
i wander why the port is not same, does the port assigned by program,or by route,or anything else
by the way ,i am using oicq

Re: about port
The port assignment is done by the "chat" program and not by the system. Do you have a copy of "lsof"? It's a cute tool that shows you all files that are opened (sockets - ports - are files).
