ACMS from OpenVMS for HP-UX

To All,

Please forgive the bandwidth, cross-posting to OpenVMS 'general' as well, but the question has come up, is HP going to have an equivalent product to the OpenVMS ACMS product on HP-UX? If so what is it called, what version of HP-UX do I need to be running, can I port directly to an Itanium running OpenVMS?

Inquiring minds want to know?

TIA,

Re: ACMS from OpenVMS for HP-UX

Shalom Chuck,

Since this involves HP-UX I consider it a legitimate question for this thread. Of course I don't know the answer, but I'd advise contacting my HP Rep if this is an important concern.

Steven,

The question is also being presented to my HP reps, but somehow, more realistc answers are to be found amongst users, not sales types.. 8-)

Re: ACMS from OpenVMS for HP-UX

ACMS is a TP monitor. The rough UNIX equivalents are tools
like BEA's Tuxedo, Transarc's Encina, etc [I believe IBM
bought Transarc so I'm not sure what the current product
offering is called]

However, this is obviously not a simple question with a
simple answer. Hopefully the sales types will bring
in the more technical types to start discussing
the nuts and bolts of an ACMS migration.
