Re: Action plan to make a Virtual Partition
What is currently running on the machine?
If something is running do you need to keep it?
What split of resources do you want?
Do you mean 2 processor boards? or 2 cores? or 1 board with 2 dual cores?

Re: Action plan to make a Virtual Partition
VPARS is a virtual partitioning in which you can allocate CPU, LBA's.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
1. And what i can understand is that you are running HPUX on an NPAR.
2. You want to create a virtual partition with two CPU's and 12 GB Memory.
3. Take a NPAR ioscan output Plan that you need to find the required LBA's and that you want to assign to a VPAR.
Example vpar create
# vparcreate -p vpar1 -a io:1/0/0 -a io:1/0/1 -a io:1/0/1/1/0/1/1.6.0:boot -a cpu::2 -a mem::2048 -B auto
io:1/0/0 --LBA -It might be Disk, Lan Card,IO CARD
io:1/0/1 --LBA
io:1/0/1/1/0/1/1.6.0:boot --Path of the bootable disk
cpu::2 --Allocating two CPU's
mem::2048 --Memory 2 GB
Do reply incase you need anymore assistance
Thanks
