Add_new_client hanging during rescan_hw_host

I have just installed Ignite C.6.2.241, for all versions as Ignite server, but when I select 'add_new_client for recovery', it has connected to the remote server, but seems to be hanging on the process 'rescan_hw_host'. The cpu is flat out running this process. What is causing this to hang?
The remote system is rp3440, HPUX11.11, 12xMSA30 disks direct attached, and SAN 500Gb attached. I have even installed Ignite on this system incase any software was missing.

This is all preparation for DR.

thanks for any help.

Greetings John,

Its possible you discovered a bug.

Or,

Did you swremove the old ignite before the new install. This behavior can occur when that is not done.

Re: Add_new_client hanging during rescan_hw_host

I removed any previous Ignite software (swremove), and also tried this against 2 servers, although they are very similar in config.

I'll try against another server config now, and also see if I can perform net archive from the remote server.

thanks

The only workaround I have found can be done when you are building the system for the first time. I uninstalled Securepath, added the client to my ignite server, then re-installed securepath. I am now able to create network recovery archives.

Hi John,
Please read this information:

Maybe, you have to do an upgrade.
