Re: Adobe Acrobat
Is your "HP3070" a PC running some form of Windows by any chance?
This forum is about HP-UX running on PA-RISC or Itanium processors and there is no HP3070.

Re: Adobe Acrobat
As HP split of the Test and Measurement side, this is now a part of Agilent.
Take a look here:

Sorry Pete, but thought it would help to make things clearer

Re: Adobe Acrobat
I have CDE and wanted to use the GUI and just right click and open a PDF file. If this is the wrong forum, I apologize and will close the thread.

Re: Adobe Acrobat
Is what you are looking for similar to the file association types found in the winblows environment? I don't believe this exists is HPUX

Re: Adobe Acrobat
I was just trying to clear up the confusion over the HP3070.
I was looking up on the adobe acrobat reader for Hp-UX, and hope this may help:
go to:
http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
select the HP-UX download and after reading the license, download the hpux-5010.tar.gz file.
gunzip hpux-5010.tar.gz
tar -xvf hpux-5010.tar
Read the readme instructions (they should be included).
Start the installation process by doing ./INSTALL
I am not sure how you would integrate it into CDE though.

SolutionCreate a file named Acro.dt in /usr/dt/appconfig/types/C and use the attachment to insert into the new file, making sure to check the paths as per my comments.
set the permissions to 444, and owner:group to bin:bin
Log out, then log back in again and try to open the pdf file from the File Manager.
Hope it helps
