Re: Announcement: HP-UX SysAdmin Survey

Just did the survey.

I think it needs to be proofread or my brain has re-calibrated to Hebrew.

Re: Announcement: HP-UX SysAdmin Survey

I recieved the link in a email on 7/17 so I took it then. And it was quick to complete, others may of recieved this email:

Dear Hutton,

The HP-UX System Administrator Survey is live! As a respondent to the 2006 survey, you provided feedback that helped guide future product and process creation within HP. This year the survey has been shortened and should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

We value your input! Visit http://www.encompassus.org/surveys/hpuxsurvey.cfm for a summary of results from 2006 and a link to the 2007 survey.

Thank you, in advance, for your feedback and participation!

Regards,

Encompass Headquarters

Survey says....

Okay - completed....

Would have been nice if there was a feature request section.

As other who know me - my biggest beef is that HP-UX requires a reboot to deallocate swap.

Re: Announcement: HP-UX SysAdmin Survey

Done. Fully featured c-compiler and mirror/disk should come with foundation-OE. "Advanced" Online JFS features should come with foundation-OE. Both mirroring and online resizing of filesystems comes with windows for goodness sake, time to stop charging extra. SSH console access via iLO should come for free for lower end systems (free with MP already). HP-UX licenses are expensive enough... no need to nickel-and-dime.

Re: Announcement: HP-UX SysAdmin Survey

I am with Geoff. A features portion would have been more valuable in my opinion. I am still waiting for the move from SysV printing to cups.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

What are you doing that you need a C compiler, that you can't use gcc?

And why do you think every customer could get with with the FOE?
