Apache & Webmin

Hello again!

I noticed that both apache and webmin come with the HP_UX 11i installs. Both of these packages appear to be installed... however, I can't seem to find their installation points... Does anyone know where these are installed by default?

I think it is somewhere under /opt. You may be able to find out the exact path with swlist.

They are both installed in /opt/hpapache2 area if you isntalled of depots. This assumes you are installing Apache v2.

The webadmin program is quite nice, lets you make all kinds of chagnes to your httpd server by connecting to a web page, pointing and clicking.

Check under /opt/hpapache2.

Webmin is also listed there.

Most applications are installed in /opt. You can verify by running swlist if the product was installed with the swagent.

Well, others have already given the location, but in the future you can use swlist to find locations. I knew there was an option for that.

swlist -l file | grep -i apache

So how does everyone like Webmin so far?

We are seriously looking at it for deployment since it is easy, delegatable and cross-platform - and a standardised interface among all Unices and Linux. I was a bit surprised that Webmin has come a really long way and to be bundled as part of hpapache2 is really something!

I am glad HP is bundling a lot of really useful quality open source tools -- ie. GTK+ and MySQL now comes with the JUN2003 11i release!
