Application terminated.

Hi Guru,
I have HP UX 11 box. It use for my SAP application and ORACLE db.
Im using DP5 for my backup tool.
The problem is the SAP and the DP5 appl always terminated. DP5 always receive internal communication problem and sap always receive error message " Connection reset by peer".

How and where to check is there any setup to avoid these error and issues?

Hi Mohd,

Please give us the exact error messages -including the error from the syslog.log file. It can be a routing or firewall or restriction problem or something else.

Hi Rasheed,
Here I attached to you syslog.log file.
The terminate message from sap is at sapgui.
I try to captured screen when i get the error.
Also same with dp. Its only happen on dp gui screen.

Hi,

I can't see any Connection reset error on the syslog.
There is a linkstatus error before few days an no longer exists now. Anyway, check the speed settings of your NIC and compare it with the switch settings. Both should be same.

Also you can try increasing the SMWaitForNewClient parameter in /etc/opt/omni/options/global file to higher value and watch for any progress.

Hi Rasheed..
Here I attached with the Data Protector error, SAP Gui error and another application error, Putty.
These error message pop up after i left my computer an hour idle.

Below is the info I could get on which mainly from the windows sixe. Just see the HP thread down for more info reg. the hpux.

WSAECONNRESET (10054): Connection reset by peer. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote peer. This normally results if the peer application on the remote machine is suddenly stopped, the machine is rebooted, or the peer application used a "hard close" on the remote socket. This error may also result if a connection was broken due to "keep-alive" activity detecting a failure while one or more operations are in progress. Operations in progress fail with WSAENETRESET. Subsequent operations fail with WSAECONNRESET.

Do a lanscan

lanadmin -x 0 (will show you the current speed of lancard config for lan ins 0)

lanadmin -x 1 (for 1) and so on.
