Hi,
I want to attach a DDS4 Tape Drive to an L-class server running HPUX11.00.
Do I have to restart the system in order to use the drive or insf and mksf are enough?
Thank you,
ionut

Re: Attach DDS4 tape to system
I am assuming you have set the SCSI id correctly and connected the power and done an ioscan in advance to do the above.
Normally I shut down a system prior to doing this kind of work, but if you don't you probably can do an ioscan and get the drive picked up.
You are however much better off turning the system over, because system start does this stuff automatically.

No Sheryl, I am NOT driving while posting to ITRC.
