ATTACHING DRIVERS IN IGNITE RECOVERY ARCHIVE?

Hi from Spain... I'll explain our problem:

- We have a BL860c with HP-UX 11.23 september of 2006 revision installed.

- The client has told me to clone that system on a new BL870c but I know (due to previous experiencies) that if I make an Ignite recovery of origin and dump it on the BL860c it will fail for sure because of a SAS driver issue...

- In previous occasions, I do the trick by "updating-ux" the origin system to HP-UX 11.23 december of 2009... that works and dumps OK on the 870.

- This time the "origin system" cannot be rebooted so I can't make the update-ux so my question is the following: Can I in some way "attatch" the new SAS drivers onto the ignite recovery image of the origin system?

When I say "HP-UX 11.23 december of 2009 I mean december of 2007".

Hi,

It is not possible to attach the SAS drivers to Ignite.

Ignite works only with Identical machines.

Only way is fresh installation as you did !

Re: ATTACHING DRIVERS IN IGNITE RECOVERY ARCHIVE?

The SAS driver software is always related to the SAS controller firmware.

What kind of issue did you see???

However, consider to take an ignite archive and add the new driver during installation, see chapter

15.2.9.2 Adding a depot

in ignite admin guide for how-to.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
