Re: Auto file for vpars

Yes, each AUTO file in each EFI area must point to vpmon.

Hope this helps!

Re: Auto file for vpars

Thanks
Another query out of curiosity.

Which of these 3 vpars will be the first to boot.

Re: Auto file for vpars

As long as you don't mix 11.23 and 11.31 it doesn't matter.

Hope this helps!

Re: Auto file for vpars

Hi Torsten.
I plan to have one vpar with 11.23 OS and other 2 vaprs are 11.31.

In this case what needs to be done.

The mixed OS support depends the vPar version. May be the following pdf will give you a clear idea.

Re: Auto file for vpars

The admin guide has a chapter about this topic.

In this case you need to boot the newer (11.31) vpmon.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Auto file for vpars

Hi Torsten!

Does auto file in all 3 vpars needs to include

"boot /stand/vpmon-a"
"boot -lq"

Kindly confimr.

Re: Auto file for vpars

To be sure set the AUTOFILE on each disk to "boot /stand/vpmon-a", so it does no matter what disk you boot from, the vpmon will always be loaded.

No need to set a switch like "-lq" here, because the vpmon will be started without care about LVM.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
