auto path to cx400

We are configuring EMC CX400 clarion with our

HP L2000 servers. Does anyone out there know of HP product to setup automatic failover to a diffrent controller?

HP's LVM control natively handles this with PVlinks, but I strongly recommend using EMC PowerPath 3.0.2, which supports CLARiiON, to also get load balancing.

You either need PVlinks (which is a part of Mirror/UX, so you need to buy Mirror/UX if you don't already have it) to setup alternate paths. See the man page for vgcreate and the pv_path parameter.

The new verson of EMC's PowerPath is supposed to support Clariions with HP servers. I've not yet installed this on our CX600 (it's supposed to be available this month), so I cannot comment on that.

Mark, MirrorDisk/UX is required for PVlinks? It is needed to flag sparepvs (vgextend -z y).
