Re: Automatic remote printer disable
1)Because the spooler often returns codes from shells there is no list of all options.
2)printer disabled "error 1 returned"
is generally caused when it refers to a printer which either
a)Prints to a remote system and gets a non zero return from rlp
b)Is a remote access printer from another machine and there are format problems.
What is this printer used for.
NOTE.If you do lpshut and lpsched -v
you will find much more info in the
/var/spool/lp/log to help with decoding.

Re: Automatic remote printer disable
Difficult to get more info on remote printer errors. Look in /var/adm/lp/log to see if you get more of an error code back from the rlp daemon.

Re: Automatic remote printer disable
Let me rephrase
1)Is the printer defined as remote.
2)Is the printer used remotely from another machine.
3)How is the printer connected.
Locally. Network
If Network is it
Own Card
or
Jet Direct EX+ box
