automatically enter boot interrupt

automatically enter boot interrupt

I've heard there is a keystroke you can enter before the boot interrupt stage which causes an automatic boot interrupt once that stage of the boot is reached.
i.e. so you don't have to stand over a slowly rebooting machine waiting for the boot interrupt

Re: automatically enter boot interrupt

You can do it with the command setboot before you reboot the server

setboot -b on /off

Re: automatically enter boot interrupt

Hm, I'm not really aware of this.

There was something similar on old K- and D-class servers - pressing CTRL B to get a special console (don't remember the name of this). Once the server reaches the console, it waits until you go back to the console (CO).

This no longer works with current servers.

Only way IMHO is to disable autoboot (see setboot) prior the shutdown.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
