CIFS Server and Microsoft Active Directory
Hi,
I am installing the SAMBA in my HP-UX integrated with my AD.
My idea is that the users of the Windows (AD) have access folders shared in the HP-UX for the SAMBA.
I installed the SAMBA, as the documentation of the HP, using the CIFS.
In the installation of the SAMBA, the account in the AD ones for the server was created.
But now I am with some problems, Always that I try to connect itself to the server per the Windows station with \\sambaserver\share User asks for and password and does not have access.
Thanks
Luiz André.

Re: CIFS Server and Microsoft Active Directory
Hi
1) Can you query the AD users with
wbinfo -u
2) The users that have access to a share must be defined in the smb.conf as follow
AD\uid

Re: CIFS Server and Microsoft Active Directory
first i think you need "net join", if you did that, then maybe, the problem is either winbind or user map.

Shalom,

Samba ships with some integration scripts. A net join is issued by one of the scripts. It is necessary to have an admin account on the Windows Domain controller to make this work.
