Backup older sendmail before upgrade

I'm planning to upgrade to sendmail 8.13.3. What directories should I backup so I can have the older version intact just in case?

I think just /etc/mail should be fine.

are you just applying a patch e.g. PHNE_xxxx ?


if so swinstall will auto save the last version, and if you choose to remove the current version, the swinstall will revert to the old ( unless you tell it not to with nosave option )

you can copy /etc/mail to another dir as well

Just /etc/mail/sendmail.cf, and I believe sd-ux will do this automatically.

Save the config and any customizations *if* you have done like additional scripts, wrappers to be on safe side i will say.
