bad lif area
hi fellows
I tooke ignite bakup on dat
but when I booting that error is bad lif area how i can rebuild that dat and use that remaining data to restore. and how to create lif area using ignite and shall use that dat with creating lif area

So your ignite tape backup is not booting? To create an ignite recovery use the following command:
make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00
This will include all of the data in the root VG and will create a LIF on the tape. You can then boot from the tape and the data will be recovered automatically.
If you mean your boot disk has a bad lif area, you can interact with the archive tape (you have a few seconds to interrupt the auto-restore). You should then have a screen similar to an HP-UX install screen. Select the recovery options and you should have a menu for a bunch of recovery options. LIF recovery is one of them.
