Best practices for setting up hpvmmigrate online
I wish to set up my 7 rx3600 servers in a virtual server "farm" (borrowing from VMware parlance) to accomdate hpvm migration online (once again, VMware vMotion). I'm looking for a white paper that would describe a best practices approach to this. I have read the install guide wich describes at a high level how to do it but i need more detail.
Please advise

Re: Best practices for setting up hpvmmigrate online
Hi Bruce,
I find this interesting, but I have only a single machine to play with ...
The manual says for online migration:
To migrate guest vm3 to VM Host host2, issue the following command:
# hpvmmigrate -o -P vm3 -h host2-hpvm-migr
I would read the chapter
10 Migrating Virtual Machines
again and play with. It already looks detailed to me...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

The other source of information is
Chapter 9 Migrating Virtual Machines
within the release notes of version 4.1.

Re: Best practices for setting up hpvmmigrate online
Thanks, I actually have read this. I was looking for something that focused more on the storage configuration. The docs say that you need to have the servers SAN attached but what are the resctrictions?
