Re: Binding one IP address to different lan cards
Briefly.
you have apps running in one node and if that node is down, serviceguard is configured to automatically moved to the second node ( failover node) and if the first node is broguht online, you can move back from the 2nd node to the first node ( primary node)

Re: Binding one IP address to different lan cards
APA is included with the OS and downloadable for free with HP-UX 11.31 at software.hp.com. Prior versions (11.11/11.23) may be purchased at the same site.
With cooperation from the network switch, APA can provide a trunk type interface for increased bandwidth as well as redundancy, or a primary/standby configuration (called Lan Monitor). Serviceguard can only provide the primary/standby type.
Hope this helps.

Re: Binding one IP address to different lan cards
Thanks, anyways for redundancy can i use MC/service guard ?
You can use APA or you can use MC SG standby LAN.
Both will help with High availability. APA can let you improve overall band width if that is an issue.
