Re: BIOS

B180L is a workstation and most likley HP inc product, so you may get better answers here: Home - HP Support Community

However, this may help too: https://community.hpe.com/t5/hpe-9000-and-hpe-e3000-servers/how-do-i-get-to-the-bch-on-b180l/td-p/2515490

Re: BIOS

A B180L is a PA-RISC workstation, not a PC; it has no "BIOS".

Is there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?  (What is
it?)

Re: BIOS

Thank you very much!

The problem is when booting it failed.

Booting . . .

   What happens _before_ that?

I think that your old junk is older than my old junk, so your B180L
might behave differently from my C3700, but, around here, before a
message like "Booting . . .", I get messages like:

Processor is starting auto boot process.

To discontinue, press any key within 10 seconds.

At that point I "press any key", and get this:

Boot terminated.

I'd expect this to be about as close to a "BIOS" as you'll get on a
system like this.

From there, a command like SEArch might be informative.  Around here,
for example, I can do:

Main Menu: Enter command > SEA

Searching for potential boot device(s)...
This may take several minutes.

To discontinue search, press any key (termination may not be immediate).

That is, one (IDE) DVD-ROM drive, and two (SCSI) hard drives.

Bad hardware (disk) could explain that.

Re: BIOS

Yes,just like you think.

If I discontinue the autoboot,it comes to main menu.

Then when I entry the command "boot FWSCSI 6.0",

>Failed I/O operation with . . .

The hard disk and cables are OK.I have tried in another B180L and it‘s OK.

The problem is on the motherboard but I'm not sure it is software or hardware.

Thank you,Steven Schweda!

Have a good day!

I don't remember ever seeing this, so I know nothing, but I don't
know how software could do this, so my guess would be hardware.

Is the SCSI adapter built onto the main board?  Is the disk internal
or external?  Can you add a PCI (or EISA?) SCSI adapter, and connect the
disk to that?

It might be time to look for newer/better junk.
