Boot 7410 using 32 bit kernel

Hi All

I tried to recover a rp7410 using a make recovery of a K370 system. it restored well but after reboot it could not load the kernel. as the kernel of k360 is 32 bit and rp7410 refuses to load it. is there any command by which I can load the 32 nit kernel in rp 7410.

Thanks

Re: Boot 7410 using 32 bit kernel

Shalom Candy,

That would be because the rp7410 is a 64 bit only system.

Re: Boot 7410 using 32 bit kernel

Absolutely no way to get a 32-bit kernel to boot on a rp7410. It just is not going to happen.

As said above the rp7410 is a 64-bit only system. The K370, if I recall correctly, could be 32 or 64 bit.

You best bet here is a clean install of HP-UX on the rp7410 from CD/DVD media.

Re: Boot 7410 using 32 bit kernel

Even if your K370 was running a 64bit kernel, there are so many hardware mismatches between the K-class and the rp7410, you'd be spending days loading the required drivers and patches. The rp7410 cannot run old OS versions.

Candyman,

See this

Rp7410 only support 64 bit.
