Re: BOOT FAILURE (WARN A008) DUE TO POWER OFF WITHOUT SHUTDOWN
either your bootpath is wrong or your root disk is dead. Do you see the disk still afer a search from main menu?

Re: BOOT FAILURE (WARN A008) DUE TO POWER OFF WITHOUT SHUTDOWN
Patrick is on the money, if youve powered down your server did you power down then up your disk subsystem also ? try it, then do a search and heopfully your boot device will show up.

SolutionIf search doesnt show your boot device then you have a hardware problem. Either the SCSI card on the HP, or the SCSI cable (check the cable is nice and tight both ends) or the SCSI card on your disk subsystem (unless its an internal disk?) or the disk itself is faulty. Only thing left to try is powerdown the server+disks, powerup the disks, then the server. If search doesnt see the disks then you will have to call an HP engineer.
