boot from CD and then mount a f/system

Is it possible to boot to single user mode from an HPUX CD ( I know how to do that ) and then mount an existing file system?
On SUN this is v easy as they provide a mount point - /a - ready.
Many thanks, Garry

Yes its possible and easy. Boot from the recovery CD, load a kernel, drop to a shell then load the commands you need (ioscan etc.) and mount it.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: boot from CD and then mount a f/system

As already stated you can boot from the recovery or core os/install CD and mount. In addition to that there are also several automatic options for recovering a unbootable system that you may find usefull.

To T G Manikandan.
Unfortunately the link seems to be on the "Americas /Asia Pacific" site and I only have access to the "European" site.
Is it possible to attach its contents somehow?
Many thanks, Garry

Many thanks all.
The article explained it well and I've actually tried it.
The other recovery options look interesting too.
