Booting from a recovery tape fails with Status -5 Unrecoveral data error

I used make_tape_recovery, the Ignite UI , the instructions given in make_medialif, ... to create recovery tapes for a B2000 UX 10.20 (nothing special but an additional PCI LAN interface) and all my tapes got created o.k. , no error message.
But trying to boot from these tapes, I always get the error above. I cannot interact with IPL, the error must be earlier.
As I would realy like to use Ignite to simplify my installations, (Cloning systems to be shipped to customers) I will appreciate any suggestions to find the problem.

Hi Wolfgang:

Are you sure that you specified the no-rewind option (e.g. /dev/rmt/0mn) when you created the tape?

Hi James,
thanks for your answer, I do use a non rewind tape. I can even read back the content of the tape using the dd command and check it with lifls -l and the output looks like before the copying to tape.

Hey wolfgang, hard to reply to your message if you don't bring it back to the front page.

Glad to hear your tape recovery problem was solved.

John, I have asked Seagate and got the reply that their tape drives do not support booting of them. If I would have known I would not have bought the drive.
Cheers Wolfgang
