Re: broadcast address ???

X - none of the above

It depends on the netmask that is set.

It can also be the street address of the station that you are tuned in to.

Re: broadcast address ???

Since 124.x.x.x is a Class A address the defaut subnet mask would be 255.0.0.0 making the broadcast 124.255.255.255. The subnetmask can of cource be changed to any valid mask which will cahnge the broadcast address

Re: broadcast address ???

NONE!
how can anyone have an IP of ##.##,##.##??? It is not possible! Yup that includes IP6!

If you have at least a small understanding of TCP/IP protocols, you would understand that an IP address alone can not give you a broadcast address. That is why there is a netmask! Some systems default to a class-A netmask, others default to a class-C netmask.

I would recommend you get some books (O'Reilly and Associates has some very good books in many languages) on TCP/IP administration!

Re: broadcast address ???

Shannon, although the name says love, there is no love given to us. Most likely it is some who is trying to cheat on an exam, or homework, and is too lazy to crack open a book and learn. Notice that all questions asked are in multiple choice form. Could you imagine that someone is going to hire this person someday??????

Re: broadcast address ???

To me "love" just looks like another MSCE! Except he has more choices than that exam! Here is the answer summary for 85% of the exam! I took the MS Pretest for MSCE2000 as a joke a few months back. I have not touched Windblows since NT4 SP3, and I passwd their pretest with flying colors!
a) log off and reboot
b) reboot
c) delete
d) reload
e) all of the above

It is pretty funny to think that a person who can not understand the basic concept of TCP/IP has a Unix box somwhere! But then again, it's easy job security (and good $$) for us folks his company will be calling to clean up the mess he has made in a very short time!

Can you imagine what he does every time he has to do anything and realizes that their is no help button for vi?

What a joke!
