CacheFS on HP-UX 11.0

Hi all,

I can not find any information about CacheFS in HP-UX 11.0 Environment.
Do I have to install any additional subsystem or patch to use this FS?

Lots more good information exists in the KB. Search with the string "CacheFS". Document #KBAN00000054 gives the steps for setting up a CacheFS.

Hello again,

if you have the product installed you should be able to run man on the commands and get the manpages.

Of course the product needs to be first on the system :-)

Any particaluar questions about the commands or do you just need general info?

In all documents I read, CacheFS is a part of NFS. NFS is installed and I successfully use AutoFS. But I try to improve NFS performance. With HP-UX 10.20 I didn't have problems using CacheFS, but now I am surprised there are no
CacheFS commands.

Hello there,

I found your answer:

Not all the functionality of NFS enhancements from 10.20 were available when 11.0 was first shipped.
At this point CacheFS is scheduled to be included in the HP-UX 11.11 and 11.i release.

This explains why the information on www.docs.hp.com is only for 11.i.

So bottom line .. no luck with cachefs in 11.0.
