Can I create a bootable tape from an Ignite disk backup
Every month, we create Ignite backups to disk for all our servers. Usually just vg00, but some other stuff for certain servers.
Can I create a boottable tape using the disk files created by ignite or do I have to create a bootable tape directly from each server ?
Every month, we run the following, to a set of different directorys for each server. So we have 2 sets of Ignite disk backups online for local problems. I want to automate a process to create bootable tapes, hopefully using these disk files.
/opt/ignite/bin/make_net_recovery -s srnau260 -a srnau260:/$SUBDIR/$MACHINE
-x inc_entire=vg00 -v;

Yes you can. There are very detailed instructions on how to do this in the document /opt/ignite/share/doc/makenetrec.txt
