Hi Champaka,
can you check the default gateway is properly defined in your system, and try to ping the gateway from your pc, or if you have any linux box you can try the cde from your linux box, before you login in to linux box you can see all the server available from your pc. good luck

Re: Can not access CDE - hp-ux 11 v2

Thanks Safar, my PC and server on same IP segment. i think it is a some kind of security issue. Actually I have 2 disks in the server and both are bootable (Seperate hpux installations. 2 cells). There is no any error when server start with other disk.

Re: Can not access CDE - hp-ux 11 v2

Champka,
can you give the output of netstat -rn, if the default router is defined, then check the /etc/services, check any port is commented, also check /var/adm/inetd.sec
if you have any linux box try from there, or it may be your xmanager is not configured properly, are you able to get xterm or dterm from xmanager

Re: Can not access CDE - hp-ux 11 v2

Champaka,

Problems like this are usually network related. Either routing or naming (both can cause problems with the DISPLAY. Check and make sure that you are actually getting the IP address back that you expect.

Have you recently changed the ip address or name of the system? Sometimes that causes problems as well.
