Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
When I connect this to our CLARIION CX400 and zone it I cant see the disks, ioscan shows the path as UNKNOWN, UNCLAIMED.
When I use a different, single port, Fiber Card I can see it as sdisk, and DGC. And insf install the necessary drivers to access the disks.
This is only happening with the dual port card. I have a call open with EMC, we have ruled out zoning problems or problems with the fiber network.
CAN ANYONE HELP?

Re: Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
This is on HP-UX 11i 64 Bit.
The ioscan shows UNKNOWN, but if I remove the hardware it changes to NO_HW.
It was also able to determine the paths to the SAN so the hardware is definitely seen.

Re: Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
When I use a different fiber card on this host it works fine.
I installed the latest driver and have all the required patches for the driver

Re: Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
It is appearing that you card is not getting initialized alongwith system boot up. So can try by swaping slot and card now before doing anything alse.

Have you installed the A6826A driver software?
Can you post the following info:

Re: Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
We are using this card, albeit on SAn attached EMC DMX801, with no issues.
Can you post the output of the following commands:
model
swlist
fcmsutil /dev/fcdN (for N=1,2,3,4)
fcmsutil /dev/fcd1 vpd
ioscan -fnu
Also worth using stm (or cstm/xstm) to get an info log from the hardware, and post his as well.
A poster above made a good suggestion, to try another slot. I think these cards are only supported in a particulcar voltage slot, but I think they are physically keyed, so you cannot get the wrong slot.
Cheers,
Tony.

You actually have later drivers than we have on our working system.

EMC can be very difficult to get good support out of, but they should be able to state that they have qualified the card at exactly those firmware/driver revs.
The server we have these cards on is an RP3440, so not that different from your A500.
Cannot think where to go next?
Cheers,
Tony.

In the ioscan, the device is CLAIMED -- is that what you have seen all along?

Yes the fiber card has always been Claimed.
Its the Hardware attached to it that will not claim:

Re: Can not see EMC disks from A6826A fiber card
I'm sure the response centre will be able to sort this -- it kind of looks like the problem is with the fcp driver not the fcd, but that woudl be really odd.
I'm not at all familiar with Clariions, so if the problem is there, I cannot help!
Good luck in getting this one fixed!
Tony
