can not su to nis+ user

hi,

I have a hpux10.20 nis client host with a solaris2.6 nis+ server running under compatible mode.My problem is: I can use "su - username" on client host from root,but I can not "su - username" from other local usr account.

just like this:

# whoami
root
# su - frank
(now it is success)
$ exit
logout
# exit
$ whoami
guest
$ su - frank
Password:
su: Sorry

Re: can not su to nis+ user

Root is a superuser and can switch to any users profile and can take any groups privileges. The other accounts have no permissions to do this unless when granted.
