Clean install of HPUX 11.0

We have a D-class system with HPUX 10.20 on it. I want to de a clean install of HPUX 11.0 but run into problems.
Plaed the Core-OS CD. Restart the system and do a BOOT ALT with ALT being de hardware path of the CD-ROm drive with NO IPL-interaction. Then I get:

Cannot find ENTRY_TEST
Failed I/I-operation with
ENTRY_IO
Status = -1

What am I doing wrong here ??

Hi:

Make sure your CD & cables are well connected for a start.

Either youve got the wrong path for the CD, or the CD is no good, or dirty.

on a D-class the CD is normally on path;
8/16.5.2.0

Path is indeed 8/16/5.2.0. CD-Rom worked fine before (yesterday).

Hi:

ou might try a search IPL to verify that this CD is bootable. You say the drive worked yesterday...can you repeat what you did then?

Is the CD_ROM an HP CD-ROM?

Try bo alt install or boot w/ interaction - then hpux (;):INSTALL
(there is no ./stand/vmunix on the install disk). Works on my C160.

Re: Clean install of HPUX 11.0

Instead of saying BOOT ALT, first do SEA, and th computer displays all disk paths. Each one has a number such as P1, P2, Pn.....
find out which one is for the CDROM.
Then try: BO Pn (n for the number of the CDROM)
This worked for me, on my D370 last week.
