Can't find package on CD (!)

I want to install package DCE/9000 Kernel Threads Support. I can find this product alright in the table of contents of CD 3 of application software but when I run swinstall it isn't listed in the available packages. Its product id is B6733AA. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Does this product require a license be purchased? I so, then it won't show up until you provide the unlocking codeword to swinstall.

You can go to the "Actions" menu and add he codeword by selecting "Add New Codeword"

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Hi Jackie,

What OS?
I don't see it on my June '03 11i Apps CDs either.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

I can't find it on http://www.software.hp.com/ either. I searched for DCE, DCE/9000, Kernel Threads, and B6733AA - no luck. Curious!

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Hi Jackie,

I found it on June '03 11.0 App CD #3.
It does not require a codeword.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Hi (again) Jackie,

Appears to be targeted to 11.0 32/64 systems, but is packaged such that it could be installed on any 11.x system. Shows a prerequisite of the DCE-CoreTools.DCE-BPRG fileset.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

That prequisite is contained in the DCE/9000 Programming & Admin Tools Media & Manuals product - B6192AA & is on the same CD (#3) on the Jun '03 11.0 App CD #3.

Perhaps you need to change the view in swinstall. Look at the menu bar, choose view, then choose Change Software View. I've had things show up after changing here.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Jeff,

Do you see it in swinstall? Because I don't even though it's listed in the table of contents. Is there a full package that it might be a part of that I have to install?

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Jackie,

Yes, I see it in swinstall.
But as stated it's on the 11.0 App CD #3.
For some reason it's NOT on the 11i App CDs.
The set I'm running swinstall up on is Jun '03 11.0 App CD #3
You should probably check with the Response Center to verify that it's OK to install this on a 11i system. Appears to me that it would install - although I did not run analysis on the pkg.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

Jakie, found this info
CPL Product: B6733AA
Codeword Req.: No
Size: 11313988
Description: DCE/9000 Kernel Threads Support
But it is in CD3 ? Depend by version.
Example "... for 11.00 application release 09/00" it is in CD5.
In "06/02 app..." it is in CD4.

Re: Can't find package on CD (!)

And to help everyone locate software on the Application CDs, there is a CD table of contents file stored on every CD. It is cumulative for all CDs so with an App CD, you can read the file with vi and search for the product, then backup to see the header for that CD.
