Can you run MCSG OPS edition without RAC

All,
I would like to know if it is possible to run MCSG OPS edition without having an Oracle RAC instance living on the cluster? In other words, can I run MCSG OPS edition as a normal MCSG cluster with packages and without Oracle?

Re: Can you run MCSG OPS edition without RAC

Yes, you can. SGOPS and SG are nearly identical. If you don't define an SGOPS instance (an Oracle package from the SGOPS point of view), you basically run a SG cluster.

You might have a different feature set for SGOPS than for SG though depending on the version you are using. Please refer to the Release Notes of SG and SGOPS for a comparison.

Yes you can run it as MCSG by itself, the O.P.S. version of the product is nothing more than MCSG with LockManager added in. Clusters will run normally without having an oracle RAC on the server.

Yes you definetely can . There is not much difference between MCSG and MCSG OPS execpt that OPS needs MC Locak manager .
