cannot get STM to install properly via ignite

Summary:
After the ignite install, swlist shows that onlinediags are installed. The man pages for stm are there. The executables aren't.

Specifics:
Using HP-UX 11.0 (9/2001).
Using ignite (B.3.6.82) I copied the depot for the core CD to the ignite server. Using SAM, I copied the depot for the Support Tools DIAGNOSTICS to the ignite server.

I used make_config to create a config file for the onlinediag depot, and I updated the ignite INDEX file, so it has two avail choices, one for just installing the HPUX11 and another to install the OS and then the online diags.

After the ignite install, swlist at the client shows that HPUXEngRT64 (B.11.01), OnlineDiag (B.11.00.16.09), UXCoremedia (B.11.00.02), and XSWGR1100 (B.11.00.47.08) are installed.
Havn't spotted any obvious error messages.

A basic ignite, remote install works ok. I'm now trying to learn to add patches and aditional software to the install.

Thanks in advance for any help you folks can provide.

Re: cannot get STM to install properly via ignite

Hi Ed,

There is a problem with dependencies for the STM-Mgr-Runtime.

/Quote/

Using swcopy(1M) to copy the OnlineDiag bundle fails to copy the subfileset Sup-Tool-Mgr.STM-UI-RUN unless the Enforce Dependencies ption is unchecked.

A work around is to copy the Diagnostics software from a source such as CD media that has not been copied to a target depot using swcopy(1M) command.

Hope this helps.

I tried the suggested remedy this morning---and it worked! Thanks for the accurate advice. I would never have known to uncheck that box.
