Cannot login to CDE remotely

I a problem when I try to loggin to CDE remotely. I am getting option to login then blue screen copyright stuff and after that it is just sitting on the blue screen. When I tryed before I would get a login screen then blue screen with copyright stuff would just blink and everything disappears. Here is what I had in syslog.log today:

Mar 8 13:29:59 wnwepfb0 bootpd[2605]: Option 43: Client specified unacceptable
option length (104 octets)
Thanks

Re: Cannot login to CDE remotely

Shalom,

Seems to me that file permissions are not correct on the .dt directories or files for the user. The user needs read-write access on these files.

Might want to explore ssh -X or ssh -Y as an alternative to run gui commands from an already running linux or cde workstation.

example:
ssh -X hostname xclock

This will run xclock on the remote system and display it on the local workstation.

Re: Cannot login to CDE remotely

Not sure if you absolutely have to use CDE. But if not I say use CLI over CDE. Good luck!
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

I still cannot use CDE session remotely - when I try it kicks me out. I can loggin as a different user but not as a root.
