Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

Can you please tell me why you want to keep the route mask of 0.0.0.0?

Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

Did you config your router to deny access for certain IP addresss(for example, your IP address)?
Another problem, I think the subnet_mask "0.0.0.0" is abnormal!

Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

Hi,
MASK of 0.0.0.0 is normal for default route.
Can you ping to this LAN ip from the same server ?.

Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

I think the ROUTE_DESTINATION[1]=default is wrong - how can you have 2 default routes? This should probably be ROUTE_DESTINATION[1]=10.16.1.0, and change the netmask for that route to the appropriate for that network (255.255.0.0 I think).

James

Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

... and I reiterate the mention of the router denying ping - if it is an external router or anywhere near a DMZ it may well be configured with ACLs to deny ping or other protocols.

Cheers!

Re: cannot ping a router, is the configuration correct?

All,

Many thanks for your replies, at the end, it was a router problem. We rebooted it and everything works fine now.
