CDE Login NOT starting...

Hello,

I have a 10.20 system that is not loading the CDE login screen when I reboot
the machine. The initial boot windows checklist shows, as the last item, that
CDE was initialized okay, but it sits at the Console Login prompt and never
gives me the CDE Login box...any clues as to how to fix this?

Most likely the system is unable to resolve the DISPLAY. If the box is
networked, I would look at /etc/rc.config.c/netconf to make sure the IP is
being set appropriately. You can also use set_parms to establish the settings,
if you are not comfortable editing the config files directly.

Check your /etc/inittab file. The initdefault should be set to 3.
