CDE session do not start
I'm trying to reuse an old D230 server (HPUX 10.2). When I log-in, I get the following pop-up:
"Unable to connect to Desktop messaging system. Check $HOME/.dt/errorlog"
When I acknowledge the pop-up the CDE desktop closes.
The errorlog file contains:
"The ToolTalk session server (ttsession) could not be started"
Neither ttsession nor rpc.ttdbserver are running.
No user can log-in to CDE. However, it is possible to log-in to a single-window session (mwm).
Do you have any idea?
Thanks.

Re: CDE session do not start
Shalom Giles,
1) Did it ever work? If not /sbin/init.d xfs start
To make the change permanent vi /etc/rc.config.d/xfs change the first variable to 1.
What you have done is start the font server and make it start at boot time. This is not done by default on HP-UX and is a manual system administrator action.
