						      man date
If you're running ntp, it may be hard to get
a manual time change to persist.
2. No.

						Hi Vinay,
You can change time temporarily but it will change after the server got reboot. For permanent change, you need to edit the tztab file and also need to edit the /etc/TIMEZONE.

I suppose you don have to change time zone.
to change the time simply use date command.
If you have NTP then it would not change and would sync with NTP server.
If not then its pretty simple and as you forwarding the time there would not be any issue with oracle as well.
