Changing IP Address in HPUX Bind Database
I have apply the change by editing the netconf file but upon boot up , network error,Hence could not access from other workstation and could not ping to HP 9000 Server. I try using SAM to make the changes but error prompt shows that the IP address is in a BInd Database and could not make any changes via SAM.
Below shows the filr info when listed in server:
-r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 4000 Apr 25 11:40 netconf.
Please advise as I need to implement it soon.
Thanks

Re: Changing IP Address in HPUX Bind Database
Hi,
I think the entries you have made may not be in correct syntax. Can you attach your neconf file and the output of "ioscan -fnC lan".
What does "ifconfig lanX" says.
Also attach "lanscan -q"
HTH,
Devender

Re: Changing IP Address in HPUX Bind Database
Hi Lee,
Try giving the IP manually using ifconfig command. Does the IP get assigned using this command? If yes, then the syntax used in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf is wrong & if no, then the card is not either not available to OS or the driver for the card is not installed.
Regards
