My question is as simple as this : Do I need to Stop my packages and my cluster to change an IP on one of my "two node cluster - mcsg".
There are two heartbeat ip on each node. There are three packages running on my cluster . One one the first node two on the second . My Ip to change is one IP declared as heartbeat in my cluster conf for my first node.
Thank U

Re: Changing Ip .. Need to restart ??
What version of Serviceguard are you running?
From v11.17 onwards you can probably do it online.
v11.16 and older, you'll have to halt the cluster.

SolutionAs said in another comment this depends on your version of serviceguard. Online configuration changes of ip addresses are permitted in SG 11.18 as of I know.
The obvious conditions reamain as below :
1)If you try to modify the cluster configuration to remove an eth netwrk interface entry which in turn is being used by your package then it would throw error messages as below :
Cannot delete eth0 since subnet 15.154.61.0 is being used in package pkg_name, which is configured to run on node NODE1.
NETWORK_INTERFACE eth0 cannot be deleted from node NODE1 when its subnet is being used in a package.
cmapplyconf: Unable to verify cluster file: clust.conf.
2) If you try to modify the cluster conf to remove an eth netwrk interface entry that is not being used by any package then you shouldnt have an issue.
3)Hence addition of valid IPs also shouldnt be an issue as I perceive.
Hope you can corelate this to your scenario and hope this helps.
