HP Testdrive

Hi there, i am trying to use testdrive.hp.com for the first time. I am trying to logon to few HP-UX servers but all of them ask for two passwords. One of them is "password" and other is "ldap password". I have already tried the password which i use to logon to testdrive.hp.com but it still says "login incorrect". I am able to logon to OpenVMS server using the same username and password. please help!!!

Works for me. I just tried to be sure.

I only get the 'LDAP Password:' if I fatfingered the password or username.

Did they create an hpux account for you?
Same username/password as the OpenVMS (it is for me).

Checked your 'caps-lock?'

OpenVMS passwords generally are not case sensitive, but for unix they are...
So if you have only used OpenVMS so far, and got use to be able to get in with an incorrect case...

Surprising!!!. But it discriminates me with password and then ldap password.. I am using td192. My account shows that I am registered on it.. Caps Lock is OFF and i dont have greasy fingers!!!

I created another account and it is working now. As you said now it is only asking for one password.

The HP-UX systems have those nasty default
stty settings, so if your password contains
any exotic characters (like "@"), you might
have trouble for that reason.
