CIFS Question

Hello!

We are running Samba version 2.2.8a based HP CIFS Server A.01.10 on HP-UX 11i. I am trying to add "acl schemes = hpux_posix unix" to the confif file and get the error below when I run testparm. Please advice

Regards,

Emil

Re: CIFS Question

Hi,

it seems that samba version 2.2.8a which you have does not support that option.

Try avoiding that option statement , as that may be a feature supported by default.

Re: CIFS Question

1) The error appears to be non-critical. Its ignoring a parameter it doesn't like.

2) This thread contains a valid solution.

Re: CIFS Question

AFAIK CIFS server v. a01.10 supports POSIX ACLs
(hpux_posix) but you should use this parameter
on share basis..like :
[share_name]
acl schemes = hpux_posix unix
....

see here for more:
