CIFS9000/Samba: getpeername failed. Error was Invalid argument

HP CIFS Server: A.02.01.01 at some times stops responding to clients. Network drives are not accessible. Samba log shows errors:

[2005/06/14 09:30:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr(1000)
getpeername failed. Error was Invalid argument
[2005/06/14 09:30:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr(1000)
getpeername failed. Error was Invalid argument
[2005/06/14 09:30:48, 0] lib/util_sock.c:send_smb(646)
Error writing 214 bytes to client. -1. (Broken pipe)

After a couple of minutes (without any intervention on the samba server) the system responds to client requests as normal.

Any ideas for this behaviour ?

Hi Rainer,

Try use sendfile = no in your global section.
Hope that helps!

What is the system memory usage when CIFS is running >? if it exceeds 95% then there is chance to get this error
