Citrix does not always allow use of mouse for grabbing focus or inserting data
We have Citrix MetaFrame 1.0 installed and have been having intermittent problems with being able to position the mouse pointer in a text box for entering data. Sometimes the text fields are not enterable. Has anyone have similar problems and what can be done to fix it.

Re: Citrix does not always allow use of mouse for grabbing focus or inserting data
Not sure .... I've seen problems wrt garbled fonts once before when CM was running on an HP Xterminal.
Is this CM for hp-ux ? If so what O/S & also what graphics H/W is involved ? graphinfo command should list
the card patch level etc ....
Sounds as if it could be Motif or Xserver related .... I'd get the latest patches as well as for CDE installed if applicable.
Also check if when theproblem occurs errors are being logged to :
a) CM errorlogs (if they exist)
b) /var/dt/Xerrors (Xserver log)
c) $HOME/.dt/errorlogs (CDE user session logs)
Also may be worth attaching a screendump or xwd of the problem so we can all take a look ?

Re: Citrix does not always allow use of mouse for grabbing focus or inserting data
This is not the Aanswer you are waiting for. But i hope this will help to locate the problem.
We are using Metaframe Version 1.8 and the Client for HP-UX Version 2.70.76 with no such problems. So this seems not to be a general problem.
Also the configuration of this client is at most parts the default configuration. Perhaps you can try to set your configuration back to the default values. Or there is a newer client at the Citrix Homepage.
Just my thoughts, i know they won't help much but they might give you a little hint.

Re: Citrix does not always allow use of mouse for grabbing focus or inserting data
We are using the Latest NT ICA clients over the LAN/WAN. The Unix ICA clients are not being used.
When I encounter the problem again I'll take a quick look at the Xserver and Xserver CDE user logs.
As for the graphinfo request, I could not find the binary for this program.
I'll need to do some reading on using xwd.
thanks...
